Cavite Representative Elpidio Barzaga Jr. is asking why the Commission on Elections (Comelec) had disqualified the only two bidders for the P2.5 billion contract to supply additional automated vote counting machines for the 2016 elections. 

The House of Representatives has passed on third and final reading a measure authored by Davao City Representative Karlo Alexei Nograles which aims to speed up the resolution of labor disputes  by strengthening the government agency tasked to handle them. 

A bill allowing peaceful assemblies  in freedom parks, privately owned lots and the campuses of government-operated educational institutions without the need  to secure permits from state authorities has been endorsed for plenary approval by the House Committee on People’s Participation. 

The House committee on Suffrage and Electoral Reforms chaired by Representative Fredenil Castro has approved for plenary debates a measure that would make election service non-compulsory on the part of public school teachers.

Representatives Ma. Victoria Sy-Alvarado and Juliet Cortuna have jointly proposed a measure that would ease the  income tax burden of  taxpayers whose dwellings have been totally destroyed by  natural calamities.
