Misamis Oriental Representative Juliette Uy has proposed income tax exemptions, free insurance coverage and other benefits for barangay officials and employees in recognition of their role as frontliners in providing basic social services to the people. 

The House of Representatives has passed on second reading a bill filed by Valenzuela City Representative Magtanggol Gunigundo which  allows Filipinos divorced abroad to remarry. 

Malacanang has allotted P12.954 billion for the conduct of national and local elections next year under its proposed appropriations measure for 2016. 

The House of Representatives has approved on second reading a measure sponsored by Davao City Representative Karlo Alexei Nograles allowing foreigners to take part in trade union activities in the Philippines. 

The Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives began last week hearings on the P3.002-trillion budget proposal of Malacanang for 2016, with the goal of seeking second reading approval for the measure by October 2015.
