The House of Representatives has begun plenary debates  last week on the proposed P3.002-trillion national budget for 2016, of which almost three-fourths or P2.139 trillion consists of new appropriations. 

The National Unity Party (NUP)  has invited Vice President Jejomar Binay, former Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas and Senator  Grace Poe to present their respective platforms of government when it holds its national convention today (September 28, 2015) in preparation for the 2016 elections. 

The National Unity Party (NUP), the country’s third largest political party, will hold its national convention on Monday (September 28, 2015) with over 500 delegates and guests expected at the gathering. 

The House of Representatives has approved on third and final reading a measure strengthening the government’s regulatory powers over private social welfare organizations. 

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) plans to spend P54.6 billion next year to reduce the effects of floods in Metro Manila and its surrounding areas.
