CAMP GEN. GARCIA, Imus, Cavite — Senior Superintendent John C. Bulalacao, Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, has delisted the cities of Trece Martires and Bacoor from the roster of “areas of concern” as he and other monitoring officers see no political threat among candidates in the two areas for the upcoming elections.
Bulalacao, citing intelligence reports, said that other areas that have no political threat are Dasmarinas City, Carmona, Kawit and so with the other upland and lowland cities and towns of the province.
Bulalacao, however, said that the city of Imus and the towns of Amadeo Silang, General Trias, and Tanza are in the watch list for the May 13, 2013 elections as the seats in the areas are being vied by candidates tightly.
“We have to monitor the areas (Imus and the others) as the seats, particularly the mayoral, would be hotly-contested by the candidates,” Bulalacao told this reporter as he cited that the PPO would be all-out in securing the province during the political season.
"We have to come out with the watch list to ensure the peaceful conduct of elections, free from violence, intrigues or any other negatives that may cast doubt on the outcome of the elections," added Bulalacao.
Trece Martires, a city in upland sixth district, and Bacoor, the province's second district, were previously in the top watch list due to the reported political hostilities or skirmishes in the two areas during election period and so with Amadeo, Tanza and Silang.
Bulalacao made the pronouncement as the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Cavite Office under Lawyer Juanito V. Ravanzo Jr. has released the complete list of candidates vying for seats in the provincial, city and municipal levels following the Oct. 1-5 filing of certificates of candidacies (CoCs).
