MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado encouraged yesterday the Bulacan Builders group to answer to the international call for green architectural designs and help mitigate the impact of climate change as he graced the opening of the three-day 1st Bulacan Builders Expo 2012 at the Hiyas Pavillon Center yesterday.

It is noted that builders are universally advocating for a green architecture design giving a chance to eradicate and minimize greenhouse gas emissions that would greatly contribute to the deterioration of the ozone layer.

The group encouraged the use of environmentally-friendly materials when constructing new homes and other structures.

The 1st Bulacan Builders Expo was grace by Sen. Loren Legarda, an environmentalist who produced two documentaries “Buhos” and “Ulan sa Tag-Araw” which describe the science of climate change and present its social, economic and health impacts on vulnerable populations.

“As Filipinos, we are responsible of ensuring the safety and prosperity of our people. Let us make our country clean, green, and blue,” she said.
