PFP and National Unity Party forge alliance Created on August 8, 2024, 2:29 am Posted by nup
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and the National Unity Party (NUP) have established a formal alliance aimed at transforming the Philippines through unity. During the signing at the Manila Golf and Country Club, Marcos emphasized that the partnership is driven by a shared vision of creating a "modern, safe, sustainable, growing country," not by political convenience. He highlighted the importance of unity and consensus in achieving national transformation, stating that the alliance, "Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas," will help resolve political differences and present a united front. Marcos also noted that the alliance is designed to address conflicts without extreme measures, promoting a common purpose beyond electoral support.
The event was attended by key leaders from both parties, and follows a previous alliance with Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats and the Nationalist People’s Coalition. Marcos has stressed the need for cooperation between the executive and legislative branches in implementing transformative policies.
The PFP, chaired by Marcos, was formed in 2018.
